Aidlab can show daily activity not only as workouts, but also as steps, distance, and floors climbed. These metrics come from different sources, so their availability depends on your device, phone system, and granted permissions.
Steps can be counted in two ways:
For step tracking to work correctly, wear Aidlab or carry your phone while walking, and allow the required physical activity permissions. If your phone does not have a supported step sensor, or the system does not allow the app to read activity data in the background, steps may not update continuously.
Distance is calculated from GPS location. The location source can be:
The app compares consecutive GPS points and rejects readings that are too inaccurate or look like sudden location jumps. For walking and running, Aidlab also checks whether the movement matches pedestrian activity. This helps prevent car trips from being counted as walks or runs.
Cycling distance is a separate metric. The app records it as Cycling Distance when cycling is detected and reliable GPS data is available.
Floors are counted only when a source of elevation or floors-climbed data is available. On iPhone, the app can use data shared through Apple Health if your phone and system collect it and you grant the required permissions.
On Android, floors tracking in Aidlab is not currently supported in the same way as on iOS. If the system or phone does not provide this data, the floors component may remain empty.
