Aidlab 2 is backward compatible with Aidlab. It uses the same Aidlab app and account, while adding sensors and larger storage.
What Aidlab 2 adds
| Element | Aidlab 2 |
|---|---|
| Location | GNSS: GPS, GLONASS and Galileo |
| Skin conductance | Electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor |
| Internal memory | 4 GB, 8 GB or 32 GB |
| Charging connector | USB-C |
Electrodermal activity (EDA)
EDA measures skin conductance. Good contact between the device and your skin is needed. It is a physiological signal, not a direct measurement or diagnosis of stress. Read Measuring electrodermal activity.
Location
Aidlab 2 includes a GNSS receiver for location measurements. Satellite reception depends on your surroundings; buildings and indoor use can limit reception. Which location data is recorded and displayed depends on the software and recording settings you use.
For integration with your own software, see Data types and events.
Existing workflows
Pairing, LED indications, synchronization and firmware updates follow the same workflows as Aidlab. The device-specific sections of this manual show the Aidlab 2 connector, mounting and memory options.
See Measurement ranges and accuracy for the distinction between device signals and values calculated by the app.
