Wearing Aidlab

Updated onJune 25, 2026

You can wear Aidlab in two ways: with a chest strap or with a compatible T-shirt or sports bra. The best choice depends on your activity and what you want to measure.

Before wearing Aidlab for ECG or respiration recordings, read Intended use and safety.

Wearing Aidlab with a chest strap

Attach Aidlab to the chest strap using its clips and adjust the strap so that all four electrodes (two on the strap and two on Aidlab itself) make direct contact with your skin. Make sure Aidlab is facing the correct direction — do not wear it upside down.

Pros:

  • very accurate ECG signal
  • access to temperature measurement
  • stable fit during movement

Cons:

  • Might feel tight or less comfortable, depending on your body type
  • Needs to be worn firmly to avoid slipping during movement

Wearing Aidlab with a compatible T-shirt or sports bra

Aidlab can also be attached to special garments with embedded electrodes. These are available from select brands (see Supported Clothing below). Simply clip Aidlab in the designated chest area as you would with a strap.

Pros:

  • more comfortable
  • less noticeable on the body

Cons:

  • Slightly lower ECG signal quality due to reduced contact stability
  • No temperature readings — sensors are covered by fabric

Which option should you choose?

Choose a chest strap if:

  • You need high ECG precision and temperature readings
  • You train with heart rate zones or move vigorously

Choose a T-shirt/sports bra if:

  • You prioritize comfort and do mostly strength or low-dynamic workouts
  • You don’t need temperature data or ultra-precise HR tracking
